K1-MET
K1-MET GmbH (K1-MET) is a European research and technology organization specializing in the development of metallurgical and environmental processes. K1-MET’s research focuses on metallurgical process efficiency and circularity, decarbonization and sector linkage, as well as modeling and data analysis. The company employs around 100 people at its two main facilities in Austria (Linz and Leoben). The foundations of the business can be traced back to 2001, when an association of four companies collaborated to lay the groundwork for its formal establishment in 2015.
Role in the project
K1-MET has the following main roles:
- Project coordinator
- Project management
- Management of dissemination, exploitation and communication
K1-MET strongly supports the experimental reduction and reoxidations studies as well as process analysis and product quality evaluation.
Team
Lukas Schmidt, the project coordinator, Melanie Leitner and Johannes Rieger work in the research area Metallurgical Process Efficiency and Circularity and will perform the activities for K1-MET.
