In our campaign “Partners of HBI C-Flex”, we are introducing the team members of each partner and their tasks in our project continuing with the team from voestalpine Stahl Donawitz.

voestalpine Stahl Donawitz GmbH is located in the centre of the Austrian iron and steel industry, where we can look back on more than 140 years of technical experience – where innovation is a tradition.

In order to achieve the goal of steel production with net zero CO₂ emissions by 2050, we are researching new processes and investing in projects that show new ways of producing steel. The use of low-carbon or even carbon-free HBI plays a central role in these considerations. The voestalpine Stahl Donawitz site has plenty of experience in the handling, analysis and use of HBI in various iron and steel production processes.

We support our project partners with our resources and expertise, for example in the chemical analysis of direct reduced iron carriers. Therefore voestalpine Stahl Donawitz has different devices to to generate in-depth knowledge. We endeavour to use our experience to evaluate and interpret the results generated in HBI C-flex. The VASD team consists of Hugo Stocker.
