In our campaign “Partners of HBI C-Flex”, we are introducing the team members of the members of our Supportive Advisory Board and their tasks in our project continuing with the team from the Midrex.
Midrex
Midrex participates in the HBI C-Flex project as an advisory partner, drawing on decades of experience in direct reduction research and operational practice. Our role focuses on providing technical guidance, sharing process knowledge, and offering feedback throughout project reviews.
As part of our contribution, we support the team by reviewing experimental plans and results, identifying potential risks or limitations, and recommending improvements based on established methodologies used within the Midrex Research & Development Technology Center. These include reduction testing of iron ore pellets in small and mid-scale furnaces under varying conditions, compaction and strength evaluation, and reactivity and handling behavior of DRI and HBI.
Through this advisory involvement, we help ensure that the project’s approaches and experimental designs align with industry-proven techniques and practical operating experience. Our goal is to strengthen the quality, relevance, and applicability of the project outcomes to real-world direct reduction and HBI production scenarios.
